Many roads in Ky Son have large cracks after rain.
(Baonghean.vn) - After several days of heavy rain, many cracks appeared on National Highway 7A and at Nam Tien 2 village, Bao Nam commune, Ky Son district, with the risk of landslides at any time.

In recent days, people in Ky Son district have been worried about the phenomenon of cracks on the road surface of National Highway 7A.
Mr. Tho Ba Re - Vice Chairman of People's CommitteeKy Son districtsaid: After several days of heavy rain, on National Highway 7A, through Hom village, Huu Kiem commune (Ky Son), a fairly large crack appeared across the road. On one side of the crack is a deep river, on the other side is a high mountain. Currently in Ky Son, the weather is sunny, but if it rains heavily, there is a high risk oflandslidecross the road at any time.
"Immediately after the above-mentioned road surface crack appeared, the district reported to the province and the transport sector; at the same time, assigned forces to be on duty at the scene to guide people to avoid unsafe locations," said Mr. Tho Ba Re.

National Highway 7Ais a vital route connecting National Highway 1 from Dien Chau town through Dien Chau, Yen Thanh, Do Luong, Anh Son, Con Cuong, Tuong Duong and Ky Son districts to Nam Can border gate. Every day, the traffic volume is quite large, including heavy trucks. Therefore, the above-mentioned cracked road point is potentially risky, especially during this rainy and flood season.
* A deep crack appeared, hundreds of meters long, threatening 50 households.
On the morning of September 10, the leader of Bao Nam commune informed that a crack appeared in the commune running along the entire Nam Tien 2 village, about 700m long, with some places nearly 1m deep, directly affecting 52 households, making many people in the village extremely scared.

Cracks and fissures stretching nearly 700m, the largest width 25cm, the deepest point about 1.0m appeared abnormally along Nam Tien 2 village, Bao Nam commune (Ky Son), the cracks ran through many houses in the village, some households had cracks running along the floor.
“This crack just happened this morning and through the inspection of the Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention, Rescue and Relief of the commune, 52/56 households are at high risk and must be evacuated to ensure safety of life and property” - Mr. Cut Van Thang - Vice Chairman of Bao Nam Commune People's Committee added.

Nam Tien 2 Village, Bao Nam Commune, Ky Son currently has 56 households, 380 people, 100% of whom are Kho Mu ethnic people. The villagers here mainly live on slash-and-burn farming, freelance labor and weaving, the poverty rate is 69.6% (39 households).
During the rain from the evening of September 4 and 5, 2022, Bao Nam was the most severely affected commune with 26 households suffering damage to their houses (of which 04 houses were completely damaged; 15 houses were severely damaged; 09 houses were partially damaged (less than 30%). Dozens of houses at high risk of landslides had to be urgently evacuated; nearly 100 small fish ponds of households and dozens of livestock were completely swept away by the flood...
Inter-commune and inter-village roads were severely affected, vehicles could not circulate.
“Previously in June 2021, after a heavy rain, cracks appeared on the hill above Nam Tien 2 village. After more than a year, cracks appeared again right in the village, making people very confused and scared. Currently, the commune's working group is conducting specific inspections and measurements to report and request direction from the district.
"In the immediate future, the commune has requested all households of Nam Tien 2 village to evacuate to live at Nam Tien village Kindergarten until it is safe to return home" - Mr. Moong Van Chan - Chairman of Bao Nam Commune People's Committee informed further.

Currently, the district is actively using machinery to clear the inter-commune road from Huu Lap to Bao Nam, and it is expected that it will be cleared by the end of September 10. Immediately after the road is cleared, the district will send specialized agencies to survey the situation and propose solutions to stabilize production and daily life for the people./.
