Heavy damage caused by floods

The heavy rain caused flash floods that severely damaged the dam and irrigation canal systems of the Na Thu, Na Tin, Xieng Thu irrigation works in Chieu Luu commune; and damaged 900m of irrigation canals in Xop Thap village (Huu Lap commune). The flood also damaged over 46 hectares of rice fields of the people of Pha Danh, Chieu Luu and Huu Lap communes.

Continue to overcome the consequences of natural disasters
In many remote communes, the terrain is difficult to travel, so access to flood warning information is still limited.
On the night of September 7, the rain continued to cause landslides in many residential areas, forcing many households to evacuate urgently, specifically, in Nam Tien 2 village, Bao Nam commune. On the morning of September 8, the Party Committee, government and functional forces of Bao Nam commune urgently evacuated 40 households to stay at the village's primary school.

Chairman of Bao Nam Commune People's Committee (Ky Son) Moong Van Chan said that as of September 8, there were about 62 landslides on inter-village and inter-commune roads, more than 4 hectares of crops and many livestock of local people were swept away by floods.
“As soon as the heavy rains came, we mobilized forces to mobilize and evacuate nearly 40 households in Nam Tien 2 village to resettlement areas, kindergartens or solid houses in the area. Currently, the government and the people are making efforts to overcome the consequences of the floods,” Mr. Chan shared.
In Chieu Luu commune, La Ngan village management board also evacuated an entire house and many properties of a family due to being buried by a landslide.
