Floods cause heavy damage in Ky Son border district
(Baonghean.vn) - The heavy rain on the night of September 4 in the border district of Ky Son (Nghe An) caused great damage to the property of people in many communes.
The heavy rain that lasted on the evening of September 4 caused many communes in theKy Son districtsuffered heavy damage. Water from streams and creeks poured down causing flash floods, many houses were swept away and collapsed, many roads were eroded causing traffic jams.
Mr. Vi Oanh - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ky Son district said: By 9 am this morning, the district had just learned that 5 houses of people in Bao Nam commune had completely collapsed. In addition,landslideRoad accidents occurred in the communes of Huu Lap, Huu Kiem, Chieu Luu, Na Ngoi, Nam Can, Ta Ca, Muong Xen town and the road to Muong Tip. Many areas of people's crops were also damaged.
"The above communes have been without power since last night, so the damage statistics report has not been timely. Therefore, the district is still continuing to count specific damages from localities to report to higher levels. For some affected locations in Muong Xen town and Ta Ca commune... the district has been directing localities to actively overcome the situation," Mr. Vi Oanh shared.
