(Baonghean.vn) - A gas pit of the drainage sewer at the intersection between Hong Son and Vinh Tan wards has been under construction for several months and is not yet finished. Due to heavy rain, many vehicles have had their wheels fall into this pit.

On the morning of September 25, residents of Vinh Tan ward, Vinh city reported the dangerous situation of an unfinished gas pit on Le Huan street, where it intersects with Ben Den street.

Le Huan Street belongs to Block 4, Hong Son Ward, and Ben Den Street belongs to Vinh Tan Ward.

Ms. Nguyen Kim Lien, who lives right on Le Huan Street, said that the unfinished construction of the above gas pit has been going on for several months, since the first outbreak of Covid-19 in Vinh City.

People living nearby have reported to the authorities many times, but until now the repair work is still unfinished, causing damage.subsidencespread out near the middle of the road, causing a very high risk of traffic accidents.

According to Ms. Lien, when it rains heavily and causes localized flooding, or at night, many cars and motorbikes have had their wheels fall into the hole when passing through this section of road.

"High-chassis cars can get up by themselves, but low-chassis cars and motorbikes need help from locals to pull them up. Luckily, no one has been injured yet," said a resident on Le Huan Street. This is the road leading to Vinh Market Bus Station, a wholesale market, so after the social distancing period, there will often be a lot of people and vehicles passing by.

Seeing the dangerous situation, people living on both sides of Le Huan and Ben Den streets used wood and other objects to cover the gas pit to warn passersby and prevent accidents from happening.

Late in the morning of September 25, authorities temporarily installed bamboo stakes and put up warning ropes around the mouths of the sinkholes.
