Thanks to social media, man returns to family after 12 years lost in Nghe An

On March 29, 2019, a resident of Phuc Lac hamlet, Thach Thanh commune, Thach Ha district (Ha Tinh) saw a message on Facebook looking for relatives for Mr. Le Van Hieu and immediately informed his brothers and relatives. Immediately after that, the information was widely shared.

Mr. Hieu's relatives followed the address on Facebook, contacted the poster, the person who took care of him, and identified the right person they had been looking for.

Previously, on March 28, 2019, teacher Nguyen Xuan Tri - Teacher of Nghia Xuan Secondary School, Quy Hop District, Nghe An Province, went to Nguyen Van Tuan's farm in Chau Dinh Commune, Quy Hop District, Nghe An Province and met Mr. Le Van Hieu cutting grass.

Seeing that Mr. Hieu looked unusual, Mr. Tri and Mr. Tuan invited him into their house (on the farm) to give him food and water to drink. After investigating, they found out that this person was from Ha Tinh; more specifically, his hometown was Thach Thanh commune, Thach Ha district, had been lost for a long time and currently did not know the way home.

Through discussion, Mr. Tri and Mr. Tuan had information about Mr. Hieu's family and current residence as well as the people who are taking care of him, so they posted it on Facebook.

On the morning of March 31, 2019, Mr. Hieu's family, along with Mr. Tuan and Mr. Tri, went to the house of Mr. Tran Hai Duong (in Lau village, Chau Ly commune, Quy Hop district, Nghe An province) - the person who had taken care of Mr. Hieu for many years to pick him up. When they arrived, everyone was warmly welcomed by the family and villagers.

Mr. Duong said: In 2013, he met Mr. Hieu in a hut in the middle of a field with a Thai ethnic family in Binh Chau commune, Con Cuong district. Seeing Mr. Hieu working hard, but living a miserable life, only digging cassava and yam to eat, he had a compassionate nature, so he wanted to take care of him and bring him home.

So Mr. Hieu was brought to Mr. and Mrs. Duong - Nhung's house, where he was treated well, had his own room, had a mattress, blanket, mosquito net, and a chest to store clothes.

On the contrary, Mr. Hieu also worked hard to cut grass and herd buffaloes to help his family. Because of his diligence, hard work, helping everyone, and being polite, everyone in Lau village, from children to the elderly, loved Mr. Hieu.

After more than 10 years of no news, thanks to kind people and through the social network Facebook, Mr. Hieu has returned to his relatives and hometown.

At the moment of parting with Mr. Hieu, many people in Lau village cried. Everyone wanted to send him a gift, wishing him a safe journey.

Welcoming Mr. Hieu home, Mrs. Le Thi Que - his sister could not hold back her tears: "Thanks to meeting good people, we were able to find him. We are extremely happy, thank you to those who took him in and helped him."
