Those 'union moments'!
(Baonghean.vn) - Having a home with tens of thousands of members, having a reunion between people who are not related by blood, having love shared equally for everyone... These things all have one common connection: the Union.
1. SURPRISE GIFT
One late afternoon on the last day of the year, in alley 115, Dang Thai Mai street (Vinh city), Mr. Linh's boarding house had a group of people come to visit. After a few minutes of talking, the group went to each room to ask each person and exchangeTet gifts from trade union organizations.

Mr. Linh’s tenants are all laborers working in the Bac Vinh Industrial Park. The rooms, less than 15 square meters, are home to many small families, including parents and children.
With kindness and modesty, the guests chatted happily and quietly left after giving all the gifts. At this time, many members of the boarding house were surprised to know that the gift-giving group included the Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation. The gift bags brought warm joy to the last days of the year.

After that visit, many workers' dormitories across the province received similar visits from unions at all levels. Not only during Tet, the unions also visited during Workers' Month, during social distancing, during quarantine... For many people, the union is not only in the company, factory, but also in the workers' dormitories.
2. URGENT TASKS
In early October 2021, groups of motorbikes of workers returning home from the southern provinces lined up to reach Ben Thuy Bridge. In the cold, early winter rain, among the dusty, exhausted people, with their belongings, were children with dirty faces and disheveled clothes... Traveling thousands of kilometers, they returned home to be cared for, protected, and to have a place to rely on in the storm of the pandemic to survive.

The trade union was one of the first organizations to arrive at Ben Thuy bridge to support these workers. Witnessing their misery and hardship, on October 6, the leaders of the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation decided to urgently implement an unprecedented program: Support 500,000 VND/person for union members.repatriated workersin difficult circumstances. This humane decision quickly spread in the community, was widely shared on social networks and received the attention of thousands of workers. Because this support took place at the right time and reached the right people in need, even if they were not members of Nghe An Trade Union.

In addition to that support, right in the quarantine area, these workers also received encouragement and sharing in cash, free meals from the "Union Kitchen", and necessities... "After the stormy trip, before I could really reunite with my own family, I received warm care fromNghe An Trade Union" - Ms. Pham Thi Nhuan (Nghia Dan) was moved when recalling the time she received support from the union.
3. PRIVATE AND COMMON HOMES
For Lo Thi Nam and her child (a member of the Yen Khe commune agency, Con Cuong), this year's Tet is a very special one. From now on, she no longer has to live in a rented house that is sinking below and leaking above, and every time it rains, she has to take her child to stay with the neighbors. Of the 80 million VND spent to build a new house, she received 40 million VND from the "Trade Union Shelter" fund. Receiving the support money from the District Labor Federation at the end of the year, in her new, simple 36m2 house, Nam could not hide her emotions. "In my situation, this amount of money is already half of the house. Without it, my life as a mother and I would never be stable" - Nam confided.

Last year, in addition to the difficulties caused by the epidemic, Nguyen Thi Nguyet and her father (union members of Woosin Vina Co., Ltd., Dong Nam Economic Zone) also encountered a major incident. Due to their difficult and lonely family circumstances, Nguyet's father unfortunately suffered 5th-degree burns due to electric shock, requiring multiple skin grafts and surgeries. The company was not established for long, and the union executive committee was established less than 2 months ago, and for the first time, they called for support for union members. In the appeal letter, there was a paragraph saying, "The company's union executive committee earnestly calls on all officers and employees to spare some spending to support Nguyet's family." Immediately after the sincere appeal, the union executive committee donated more than 13 million VND to her and her father. Receiving the affection of colleagues and the attention of the company's union, Nguyet tearfully said, "As soon as I joined the company, I received the care and help of the union, I am very grateful to everyone"...
Not only is it the story of Ms. Nam and Ms. Nguyet, not only the joy of one person, under the common roof of the union, there are many emotional and warm moments like that.
