Cars with errors will be refused registration
In addition to structural interference or installation of inappropriate accessories, cars can also be rejected if certain administrative procedures have not been completed.
To be allowed to circulate on the road, each car must meet technical standards. Vehicle inspection is the activity of specialized agencies to inspect the quality of vehicles in terms of technical safety and environmental protection, to see if the vehicle meets the regulations.
Recently, some inspection centers were temporarily suspended due to violations of regulations on motor vehicle inspection services. Many drivers believe that car inspections are being made "stricter", but in reality, the regulations on inspection have been clearly stated but many drivers have not studied them or know but still deliberately violate them.

Below are common mistakes that will lead to car registration being denied:
-Vehicle missing papers when going for inspection: Necessary documents when carrying out the procedure for renewing vehicle inspection include: Vehicle registration (original), or a copy of the vehicle registration certified by the holding bank or financial leasing organization, or an appointment letter for vehicle registration; Valid vehicle owner's civil liability insurance certificate (original), and Certificate of technical safety and environmental protection quality of the modified vehicle (for newly modified vehicles).
-Not paid fine: Cold fine is a form of administrative violation punishment through technical means and equipment (images, videos).
According to regulations, car owners have 20 days (regular days, not working days) from the date the traffic police send the fine notice to resolve the issue. After the deadline, if the violator does not come to the traffic police headquarters to resolve the issue, the competent authority will send a warning notice to the vehicle inspection agency to include it in the warning software. At this time, the vehicle owner will be denied inspection until the fine is resolved.
Therefore, vehicle owners should regularly look up information on fines on the official websites of the vehicle inspection centers to see if their cars have been fined in order to promptly resolve them, avoiding wasting time traveling.
- Install additional front bumper, rear bumper, roof rack:This will be the reason why cars are refused to be inspected if they exceed the permitted dimensions in the ratio of length x width x height of 4x3x4 (cm). In addition to being refused to be inspected, cars with additional car protection frames/bumpers will also be fined by the Traffic Police for administrative violations of self-modification of the vehicle structure.
- Change the car lighting system:Any act of changing the vehicle's lights compared to the manufacturer's design, such as installing additional LED lights, fog lights, rear lights, etc., is determined to be a violation of Clause 2, Article 55 of the Road Traffic Law. In addition to being denied registration, these vehicles will also be fined 1 million VND.
- Add more seats:This error is common in vans and pickup trucks that only have two seats in the cabin, so after buying the car, many people install additional rear seats to increase the number of seats. However, this is against the regulations, which will not only cause the car to not be registered, but also risk being fined 6-8 million VND by the traffic police. The car owner must remove the rear seats and return the car to its original design before being able to complete the registration procedure.
- Change paint color:Whether it is real paint or just decals, if the original color is changed, the car will not be registered. If the owner wants to keep the decal color on the whole car, he can do the procedure to change the car color to be registered.
- Change vehicle structure:Extending the cargo bed to a height exceeding the standard specifications (a common mistake in cargo trucks), changing the body kit, and using rims and tires that are not the correct size or do not meet technical standards (including trailers and semi-trailers).
- Failure to comply with the requirements for installing a journey monitoring device:This is a regulation for vehicles used for transport business (according to Decree 91/2009 on business and conditions for doing business in transport by car).

From the above regulations, it can be seen that the cases of cars being refused registration often fall into vehicles with "modified" lights that are not in accordance with regulations. The need to improve the lighting capacity of cars is legitimate, especially for old and popular cars, but if this is not done in accordance with regulations, it will not pass the tests of specialized units.
In fact, many cars have their lights "indiscriminately" modified in a way that only lights up for themselves without caring about the glare of oncoming drivers. Some cars install LED bars, high-power lights, and flashing decorative lights that also affect other vehicles on the road. Not to mention the risk of short circuits and fires, affecting the vehicle's power source.
Second, many car owners like to install roof racks, front and rear bumpers to "increase the ruggedness" or for some other purposes. These items can help the vehicle owner achieve personal aesthetic goals and preferences, but if installed incorrectly, they will be "failed" during inspection. Third, changing the color of the car, regardless of whether it is painted or decaled, will cause the car to be refused inspection.
