High income models in Tan Hop (Tan Ky)
(Baonghean.vn) - Within 5 years, the average income per capita in Tan Hop increased from 8.8 million VND/year in 2010 to 19 million VND/person/year at the end of 2015.
Tan Hop is a difficult mountainous commune of Tan Ky district, located 35km away from the district center. The commune has a total natural land area of over 7,000 hectares, more than 2,000 hectares of production land mainly consisting of hills and forests. The whole commune has over 1,000 households, 7/8 villages are Tho ethnic people. The characteristics of small-scale production, isolated and scattered traffic routes, and the people's economy still has many difficulties.
In recent years, thanks to dynamic innovation in thinking and working methods, and trust in the policies of the Party and State, many effective economic models have contributed to poverty reduction in the locality.
Since 2010, realizing that sugarcane is a strong industrial crop, the Party Committee and the government of Tan Hop commune launched a movement to bring sugarcane to hilly gardens and flat land. Up to now, the whole commune has planned to reach over 1,300 hectares of sugarcane for business. Of which, Tan Thanh hamlet typically grows more than 420 hectares.

Along with sugarcane cultivation, in Tan Hop there are also many orange growing models, each year generating hundreds of millions of dong in income. A typical example is the model of Mr. Thai Ba Hoa in Thung Lo hill, currently growing over 1,000 Van Du orange trees. After more than 8 years of hard work and investment in care, up to now, he and his wife have harvested and sold over 40 tons of fruit to the market each year, selling at 30,000 VND/kg, after deducting all expenses, the net profit is nearly 1 billion VND/year.

The livestock industry in the area is changing positively towards commodities. Many livestock farm models with a scale of over 15 buffaloes/model bring economic efficiency from 40 - 100 million VND/model/year. The whole commune currently has a total herd of over 1,300 buffaloes, nearly 1,700 pigs, over 1,000 goats and 35,000 poultry.
Mr. Nguyen Ty Thanh - Secretary of the Trung Do hamlet Party Cell, said: The whole hamlet currently has over 200 households, 860 people, 95% of whom are ethnic minorities. In recent years, people have focused on vaccinating livestock, increasing the annual vaccination rate for livestock from 51% to 85%.
