The long-standing dream of the people has come true. Having electricity also means opening up hope for a new life for the people, escaping hunger and poverty.

At a rare age, Mr. Cut Van Binh, 75 years old, in Huoi Thum village shared: With the national grid, our people are very happy, no longer having to worry about floods coming and washing away the small hydroelectric plant like before. The children's studies and daily activities are more convenient.

Teacher Nguyen Thi Thuy, who teaches at Huoi Thum village, Na Ngoi 2 primary school, shared: “In the past, we teachers had a very hard time. During the day, we went to class to teach, and at night we had to use kerosene lamps to prepare lesson plans. Now that we have electricity, lesson plans are prepared on computers, and in the evening we can tutor weaker students so they can improve…”

With the national grid, Huoi Thum villagers will have less hardship in their daily lives; they can use audio-visual equipment and learn more about science and technology. This is the motivation for them to feel secure in production and together rise up to escape poverty.
