The Dien Ngoc - Dien Kim (Dien Chau) route is only about 1 km long, but has been seriously degraded. In 2011, the People's Committee of Dien Chau district upgraded the road surface width to 7 meters, the asphalt roadbed to 5.5 meters. However, the section connecting from National Highway 1A through Dien Ngoc commune is often congested due to the volume of vehicles participating in traffic serving the exploitation of marine fisheries and aquaculture from Dien Ngoc, Dien Bich, and Dien Kim communes.
Since 2015, the Dien Ngoc residential and commercial service project, located in Dien Ngoc commune, Dien Chau district, invested by Hai Van Company Limited, has been formed. Despite many difficulties, Hai Van Company Limited has decided to invest over 10 billion VND to continue upgrading and expanding the road nearly 1 km to serve both the project and the people in the area. The road has been put into use since 2016 with a width of 15 meters, 8-10 meters of asphalt.
Mr. Tran Minh in Dien Bich commune, a driver who transports marine materials, said: This road used to be narrow, and traffic jams often occurred. Now that the road has been widened, it is very convenient for us coastal residents to travel. Mr. Nguyen Canh Hung in Hong Yen hamlet, Dien Ngoc commune, said: In the past, traffic accidents often occurred in this area because the road was too small. Since this road was widened, there have been no collisions or traffic accidents.

According to local people here, in the past, all goods were sold on the roadside, making it difficult for vehicles to move through this market area because of frequent traffic jams. Since Dien Ngoc market was invested and put into use, all activities have been brought into the market area, contributing to restoring traffic order at this "bottleneck", reducing traffic congestion.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Vice Chairman of Dien Ngoc Commune People's Committee added: To get in and out of Lach Van port, fishermen have had to pay 2-3 million VND to rent small trucks to transport goods for fishing. Now the road has been expanded, container trucks can go directly to the site to transport seafood. However, currently, this road is still stuck in the land clearance of some households, creating a "bottleneck" near National Highway 1A. It is recommended that relevant sectors find solutions to quickly clear the road so that construction can be carried out to clear the road, ensuring traffic safety for people and vehicles passing by.
