The 50th female Covid-19 patient tested positive again after two negative tests.

On April 9, information from the Department of Health of Quang Ninh province said that through monitoring and treating Covid-19 patient No. 50 (BN50) at Hospital No. 2 (Ha Long city, Quang Ninh), the test results of this person showed complicated and unpredictable developments.

Accordingly, Patient 50 was tested positive for the virus that causes Covid-19 on March 13, 18 and 23. After a period of treatment, this patient had 2 negative tests on March 26 and 28. However, 3 tests on March 30, April 2 and April 5 gave positive results.

The representative of the Department of Health also said that through research by many scientists around the world, especially recent publications, there are cases of Covid-19 patients who were successfully treated, tested negative for Sars-CoV-2 many times, but after returning to the community for a while, the screening test "re-tested positive" for this virus.

According to the Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Health, the locality still has 2 Covid-19 cases being isolated and treated at Hospital No. 2, namely Patient 50 and Patient 149. In addition, the whole province has 72 people being isolated at medical facilities; 708 people are isolated at centralized isolation areas outside medical facilities. To date, 4,021 cases have been released from isolation in the whole province.

Regarding citizens who visited Bach Mai Hospital in March, the Quang Ninh health sector has screened and monitored 1,089 cases. Notably, through taking Covid-19 test samples for these cases, 1,014/1,015 samples were negative, 1 case is awaiting results.
