Female valedictorian of Literature at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and the secret to good study

Sharing about her daughter's success, Ms. Thuy Han, Khanh Linh's mother, could not hide her happiness: "Khanh Linh is very studious and has a high level of self-discipline, so her parents do not have to remind her much. Linh also does not ask her parents to buy many books, but mainly studies in class and goes online to find advanced essays to learn and study. In addition to class time, Linh also helps her parents with many household chores such as tutoring Linh, cooking, etc. Besides, thanks to the encouragement and help of teachers and friends, Linh is somewhat motivated. Her parents do not have much time with her like her peers, so her achievements are thanks to her own self-discipline and determination and the dedicated teaching of her teachers."

Before parkingvaledictorianPhan Boi High School for the Gifted, Khanh Linh has a long history of impressive academic achievements. Not only has she been an excellent student in the town for many years, in 9th grade, Khanh Linh won the Encouragement Prize in the provincial Literature competition for excellent middle school students; she won the First and Second Prizes in Literature and English for excellent students in the town from 6th to 9th grade.

Talking about her own experience in studying Literature, Khanh Linh shared: In my opinion, to be good at Literature, first of all, you must have passion, practice writing skills and perception. Read many sample essays of students who have won high prizes, study articles in Literature magazines, Tuoi Tre newspaper, advanced essay topics, collect your favorite articles, favorite paragraphs to learn how to write, how to use words when writing, you need to write a lot to practice your skills. If you don't understand something, discuss it with friends and teachers to grasp the content and then rewrite it. Every time I read a good sentence, I often write down that sentence and idea in a separate notebook to increase my perception. For me, my passion for literature is boundless.

I usually spend more time studying literature than other subjects. Every day, I choose a certain time, which is good for my health, I don't stay up too late, but I mainly wake up early to study more easily. In addition to mastering the knowledge in class, I also spend time accessing the Internet to learn, expand my knowledge, review the types of questions and know how to allocate time to do the test reasonably - Khanh Linh added.

Revealing more about her study secrets, the female valedictorian shared that in addition to being diligent and self-conscious in studying, reading is also a way for her to relax, gain knowledge and nurture her soul. At the same time, the habit of reading helps her accumulate knowledge and cite real-life examples in her assignments. Linh believes that literary knowledge helps her have a rich and flexible vocabulary, and is more confident when communicating with friends and society.

Talking about the recent exam, Khanh Linh said: “Right when I read the questions, I was very worried because the questions were highly differentiated. However, after calming down, I tried my best to apply the knowledge that the teachers had taught me and did the test carefully to avoid "losing" points. After the exam, I did it again for the teacher to check and she also highly appreciated it. However, I did not think that I would become the one with the high score. Linh is proud that she and two other friends won the highest position.”

Understanding the passion and qualities of her students, Ms. Thuy Duong - the teacher who directly trained Khanh Linh - guided Khanh Linh, gave her the desire to expand her knowledge, and from there, the dream of entering Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted became her goal. This is the first time Hoa Hieu 2 Secondary School has a student who is the valedictorian of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted in Literature.

Commenting on her student, Ms. Ta Thi Thuy Duong, Khanh Linh’s literature teacher, said: “In class, Linh is a well-behaved class monitor. Not only is she an excellent student, Linh also participates in many cultural activities of the class and the school. What impresses me about this little student is that she has a high sense of responsibility for collective work, is enthusiastic and sociable with her friends.”

When asked about her dream job, Khanh Linh revealed: "I dream of becoming a diplomat in the future" to travel everywhere and learn about advanced cultures in other countries.
