Mr. Hoang Trung T., a resident of Hamlet 14, Dien Hoang Commune, said: “I often go back and forth along this canal to take my children to school. Many days, I found 2-3 dead pigs floating on the canal, but they were not salvaged, causingenvironmental pollutionserious, as well as potentially spreading diseases.
On Son Tinh canal, it can be seen that many bags of garbage are floating on the canal, or drifting to both banks. In the overflow area, a pig carcass (about 200kg) is in the process of strong decomposition, emitting a foul smell, forcing passersby to pass quickly.

Talking to us about the information people reported, Mr. Nguyen Tan - Chairman of Dien Hoang Commune People's Committee said: "Along this canal, there are no pig farms in the locality, it could be because people upstream lack awareness and illegally dump dead pigs that drift here."
While there is no clean water, the underground water source is increasingly depleted and polluted, the water source from this canal is very important to the local people. However, environmental pollution caused by waste and animal carcasses still occurs frequently here. Therefore, the local government and people need to have drastic and meaningful solutions to ensure environmental sanitation for this canal.
