(Baonghean) - Born in Yen Thanh rice district, because of his passion for breeding Quy ducks, Mr. Thai Dieu went to Quy Chau - Que Phong to build the famous Quy duck farm.

When we met and talked, he said that he was originally a farmer in Yen Thanh district, and had started his career in this area since the 1990s, raising ducks. After enjoying the delicious and rare Quy duck meat, he learned about the origin of this duck breed and learned that it was a traditional specialty of the Thai ethnic group living in the border communes of Quy Chau and Que Phong districts.
Mr. Dieu excitedly said: “In 2007, at that time, Quy ducks were only raised sporadically in each household, with a few ducks mainly for food, so there were no eggs to buy. My wife and I had to travel to each village, hamlet, and go to each house to beg them to sell each egg.”
A few clouds make a storm - when he had collected a significant number of eggs, Mr. Dieu proceeded to the incubation stage. After nearly 2 years of perseverance, he had nearly 200 purebred Quy ducks, the first batch of parent ducks. At the same time, the People's Committee of Que Phong district had a policy of restoring the Quy duck breed, supporting him with capital to invest in expanding the farm and buying an incubator. From there, Mr. Dieu could provide people with better quality Quy duck breeds.

Mr. Dieu said: The Quy duck is more delicious than other duck breeds because its meat has very little fat, is thick, tough, and firm. Scientists also analyzed that the Quy duck meat also contains a higher ratio of glutamic acid than other duck breeds. However, the local people here explain in their own way, they think that the food source from moss, crab, shrimp, plus the wind and frost of the extreme Northwest land of Nghe An is the special "input" to create the traditional delicious taste of this duck breed's meat.
Restoring the special Quy duck breed and establishing a farm, Mr. Thai Dieu is now considered one of the largest household businesses in Que Phong district. It can be said that the source of Quy duck breeds has been expanded as it is today thanks to the passion and dedication of Mr. Thai Dieu.
Supply 100,000 ducklings/year
In 2008, Mr. Thai Dieu established Dieu Chau Private Enterprise specializing in producing and supplying purebred, high-quality Quy duck breeds for farmers. From here, Quy Chau and Que Phong districts have signed many contracts with enterprises to supply Quy duck breeds to households under the State's support programs and projects. This is truly a "therapy" to help many households have the opportunity to develop the economy and increase their income.
In addition to households in Que Phong district, many people in western districts such as Quy Chau, Quy Hop, Con Cuong, Tuong Duong... heard about him and also came to buy ducklings.

Thus, in addition to preserving the Quy duck breed and multiplying it everywhere, through the State's programs and projects to support poor households, every year Dieu Chau Private Enterprise also receives the supply of other livestock breeds such as: cows, goats, chickens, pigs... for people to develop their economy.
Up to now, Mr. Dieu has also had 4 other duck farms located in 2 districts of Quy Chau and Que Phong; always maintaining 2,000 - 3,000 laying ducks, each day giving over 2,000 eggs, with 5 industrial incubators, each year the enterprise supplies people in the mountainous districts of Nghe An with 100,000 Quy duck breeds, many workers have jobs, stable income.
