Breaking up a high-tech gambling ring with billions of transactions every day
A large-scale online gambling ring has just been busted. Authorities arrested 6 people, 350 million VND, homemade guns, knives, swords, and many related books and computers. At the time of arrest, the ring was transacting up to 1 billion VND a day.
On April 14, news from the Criminal Police Department (PC45), Ninh Binh Provincial Police said that this agency had just urgently arrested 6 people led by Vu Van Canh (born 1985, residing in Thuong village, Ninh Van commune, Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province), to investigate and clarify a large-scale high-tech gambling ring (via the internet).

Accordingly, on April 12, the police arrested the above 6 people, and at the same time ordered a search of their residence and discovered and seized on the spot 350 million VND, 2 cars, 13 mobile phones, 1 shotgun, knives and swords, along with various books, computers... related to gambling.
According to the police, the amount of money these people used for gambling on April 12 alone was about 1 billion VND. This is a very sophisticated, large-scale high-tech gambling ring, operating across provinces and districts, with many participants.
To operate the line, the leaders will collect daily lottery number records, then send them to Vu Van Canh via the "Loto pro" software system (a software that automatically receives, analyzes, and synthesizes lottery data from messages sent by players) or via zalo/messenger applications.
Currently, Ninh Binh Provincial Police are continuing to investigate and expand the case.
