Breaking up a drug trafficking ring from Que Phong to Dien Chau and neighboring districts

On February 28, 2024, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police said that the unit had just presided over and coordinated with professional units of the Provincial Police to successfully break a case, arresting 03 subjects for the act ofdrug trafficking, seized 6,000 synthetic drug pills.

Previously, through the work of grasping the situation, the police force discovered that the subject Le Thi Huan (born in 1973), residing in Dien Hong commune, Dien Chau district, had signs of collusion and connection with subjects in Dien Chau district and Que Phong district to commit crimes of illegal drug trafficking. The subjects operated on the move, with many sophisticated methods and tricks to deal with the authorities. In that situation, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department reported to the provincial police leadership to establish a special project to fight.

After a period of monitoring and applying synchronous professional measures, at around 12:00 on February 23, 2024, in Que Phong district, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department presided over and coordinated with professional units of the Provincial Police to deploy forces, simultaneously arrest and search the residences of 03 subjects including: Vy Thi Thanh (born in 1986), residing in Chau Thon commune, Que Phong district; Le Thi Huan (born in 1973) and Doan Thi Thom (born in 1990), both residing in Trung Thanh hamlet, Dien Hong commune, Dien Chau district. The authorities seized 6,000 synthetic drug pills.

At the police station, the suspects admitted their crimes. Vy Thi Thanh was the ringleader of the drug trafficking ring, and through Doan Thi Thom, she connected with Le Thi Huan to transport drugs to Dien Chau district and neighboring areas for consumption. It is known that Le Thi Huan and Doan Thi Thom had previous convictions for drug trafficking.

Currently, the case is being further investigated and expanded.
