Launching response to National Action Month against Domestic Violence
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 20, the launching ceremony of the National Action Month to Prevent Domestic Violence and the celebration of Vietnamese Family Day on June 28 was jointly organized by the Department of Culture and Sports and the People's Committee of Que Phong district in Kim Son town, Que Phong district.

Like many other localities, domestic violence is still a pressing issue in social life, causing a decline in family happiness and causing damage to the economy and social security in Nghe An.
According to the reported data from 2008 to 2017, Nghe An recorded 7,590 cases of domestic violence. This is not necessarily a complete figure, but it also shows the level of violations and the work of preventing and combating domestic violence needs to be addressed in all 3 groups of issues: preventing acts of violence from occurring; early detection, timely handling of acts of violence and support for victims of domestic violence.

With the theme: "Family: resources and responsibilities in preventing and combating domestic violence", the launching ceremony was held to raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors and the whole society in preventing and combating domestic violence.
Thereby contributing to protecting women and children, building happy families; honoring the profound human values of Vietnamese families; promoting propaganda and mobilizing all classes of people to practice civilized lifestyles and cultural behavior in families and communities, inheriting the good traditions of Vietnamese families.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, comrade Ho Mau Thanh - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports said: To achieve the annual goal of reducing from 10% to 15% of households with domestic violence, in the coming time, the Department of Culture and Sports will coordinate with relevant departments, branches, organizations and localities to continue to effectively implement the National Action Program on domestic violence prevention until 2020 in Nghe An province.
At the same time, we call on organizations, agencies, unions, and each locality from villages, hamlets, residential groups to each family to unite and join hands to act for a society without domestic violence. Contribute significantly to building a prosperous, equal, happy, and civilized Vietnamese family.

At the ceremony, the provincial steering committee and participating districts and towns signed a commitment and marched calling on everyone to respond to the National Action Month to Prevent Domestic Violence.
