Ha Tinh Customs Department said that on the evening of June 5, while on duty at the entry lane of Cau Treo international border gate (Huong Son district), officers of the unit discovered suspicious images of goods in two wooden vases (the type of vases used for decoration) on a pickup truck with Hanoi license plate entering Vietnam from Laos.
After checking and finding drugs, the authorities immediately sealed the car and restrained the driver, Phan Tat Huong (33 years old, residing in Nghe An) who was sitting in the cabin. 40,000 synthetic drug pills wrapped in nylon and hidden in two vases were confiscated.
Suspect Huong confessed to buying drugs from Laos, transporting them to Vietnam to resell to contacts.
