Promoting solidarity creates momentum for development

(Baonghean) - Nghe An Newspaper interviewed comrade Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Yen Thanh District Party Committee.

PV:Could you tell us some highlights in the general socio-economic picture that the Party Committee and people of Yen Thanh district achieved in 2016?

Comrade Nguyen Van De:2016 was a year of many difficulties, but the Party Committee and people of Yen Thanh promoted the spirit of solidarity in the political system, created consensus among the people and achieved many basic achievements in all fields. The economy continued to grow well; the economic growth rate of the year was 6.55%. Economic structure: agriculture, forestry and fishery accounted for 51.69%; industry - construction accounted for 19.18%; services accounted for 29.23%. Average income per capita was 27 million VND/year. The value of industrial production, construction and services (at comparable prices) reached 2,770.3 billion VND, up 12.8%.

The fields of cultivation, livestock, forestry, fisheries and irrigation, despite many difficulties, still achieved important results.

The total production value of the whole industry in 2016 reached 3,368.8 billion VND, up 4.11%. Food output reached over 165,000 tons. Livestock herds were maintained stably, fresh meat products of all kinds reached 31,276 tons. 1,500 hectares of regenerated forests were fenced off, 1,385 hectares of concentrated forests were newly planted; forest coverage rate according to the new standard was 23%. 1,660 hectares of freshwater aquaculture were cultivated, with an exploited output of 6,884 tons.

From 2013 to 2015, the whole district had 13 communes meeting the national new rural standards, of which Son Thanh was the first commune recognized in the province. In 2016, 6 more communes were recognized, bringing the total number of the whole district to 19/38 communes meeting the new rural standards, making Yen Thanh district one of the top in the province in terms of achievements in building new rural areas. The cultural and social fields have seen remarkable changes, in which education and training have been comprehensively improved in quality.

The work of taking care of people's health has been well invested in terms of staff, facilities and technical equipment. Cultural, information, artistic and sports movements have been organized in a rich, diverse and in-depth manner, gradually socialized. Social security policies have been effectively implemented to prevent the emergence of social evils and complications.

PV:Considered one of the localities that do well in Party building work, can you tell us some of the main results?

Comrade Nguyen Van De:The district Party Committee has focused on leading and directing the grasping, handling, and orientation of social ideology and opinion, creating unity within the Party and consensus among the people. Focusing on propagating political policies and tasks in the district such as new rural construction, key projects, plans, and socio-economic development projects in 2016. Directing the successful propaganda of the 12th National Congress of the Party and the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term.

Regarding organization and personnel work, Yen Thanh has carried out the procedures well according to its authority. Successfully directed the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term. Directed the development of a plan to arrange 21 Vice Chairmen of the People's Committees at the commune level according to the Law on Organization of Local Government and 7 Vice Chairmen of the People's Councils at the commune level who did not meet professional standards; Provided policies on personnel for key positions at the district and commune levels after the election to prepare for the first session of the People's Councils at all levels.

Inspection and supervision work has been focused on, contributing to ensuring that the Party's programs, directives and resolutions are implemented seriously; preventing, detecting, handling and promptly correcting violations; strictly maintaining Party discipline. Promoting mass mobilization activities of the political system, especially implementing resolutions, directives, projects and conclusions related to mass mobilization work. Grasping and synthesizing the thoughts and aspirations of people of all walks of life to make recommendations to Party committees and authorities for resolution; meeting and exchanging with priests in the district and participating in handling and resolving a number of religious-related cases in the area.

Actively propagate and mobilize people of all walks of life to effectively implement the Party's policies and the State's laws. Grasp and recommend sectors and authorities at all levels to resolve the people's legitimate and legal proposals and aspirations; consolidate the national solidarity bloc and enhance social consensus. Direct the development of "Smart Mass Mobilization" models. Promote democracy, intelligence and creativity of the people, attract capital sources and projects to develop the economy, create jobs and reduce poverty. Mobilize support and effectively use all types of funds. Propagate, disseminate and educate about the law, policies and guidelines of the Party and the State. Actively build models and typical examples in your organization.

PV:What are the development orientations of Yen Thanh district in 2017, sir?

Comrade Nguyen Van De:Continue to focus on restructuring the agricultural sector in conjunction with new rural construction. Promote comprehensive intensive investment, arrange crops, and convert plant varieties to suit climate change and market demand. Focus on attracting investment to upgrade and maintain traffic routes in the district such as National Highway 7B, National Highway 48E, other important routes, dams; build and upgrade seriously degraded schools, medical stations, etc. Strengthen management, prevent revenue loss and tax arrears. Continue to promote new rural construction.

Grasp and orient the ideology in the Party, public opinion in society, create consensus in the political system and the entire people. Carry out well the work of protecting internal politics. Improve the quality and effectiveness of inspections and supervisions. Develop and implement well the inspection and supervision program in 2017. Strengthen the Party's leadership in mass mobilization work in the new situation. Continue to consolidate the organization, innovate the content and methods of operation of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in accordance with new requirements. Promote the role of the Fatherland Front in gathering and building the solidarity bloc of the entire people. Promote administrative reform, strictly maintain discipline, improve public ethics for cadres and civil servants.
