(Baonghean.vn) - On July 22, on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2018), comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee led a working delegation to visit and present gifts of gratitude to 2 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in Quynh Luu district, 2 families of seriously wounded soldiers in Hoang Mai town; offered incense at the Railway Martyrs Cemetery and Rocket Cave (Hoang Mai town).

The delegation included representatives of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Provincial Party Committee Office, Provincial Youth Union, Provincial Veterans Association, Provincial Military Command, and Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

In Quynh Hau commune, Quynh Luu district, the working delegation visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Hien (94 years old) and Vietnamese Heroic Mother Ho Thi Mai (86 years old).

On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An province, comrade Nguyen Van Thong expressed his deep gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices of the mothers; wished the mothers to take care of their health and live happily with their children, their homeland and their country.

In Hoang Mai town, the delegation visited and presented gifts to two families of war invalids ¼ Nguyen Ba Dou (Quynh Thien ward) and Le Sy Lich (Quynh Vinh commune).

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong kindly visited and expressed his joy when he learned that both seriously wounded soldiers Nguyen Ba Dou and Le Sy Lich had overcome the pain of their injuries, constantly striving to build a happy and prosperous family, and to have grown children. Comrade Nguyen Van Thong hoped that they would live happily and healthily; and continue to be shining examples for future generations to learn from and follow.

Next, the delegation offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Railway Martyrs Cemetery and Rocket Cave. Rocket Cave during the war against the US was called Group 4 Cave - a shelter for railway workers and youth volunteers tasked with ensuring traffic in the Hoang Mai area.

On April 28, 1966, American enemy aircraft fired missiles into the cave, killing 33 railway workers and heroic youth volunteers... On May 14, 2007, railway officials and employees built a memorial complex for railway martyrs as historical evidence.
