Long Tho Hamlet was established in 1993, separated from the old Mai Tho Cooperative. The hamlet has 210 households and 893 people, of which over 97.6% are Tho ethnic people. Over the years, Long Tho people have promoted the spirit of solidarity, actively participated in economic development, helped each other to sustainably reduce poverty, and improved their spiritual life, thanks to which people's lives have increasingly improved.
Implementing the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", the people of the whole hamlet have achieved many commendable achievements. The people in the hamlet have donated 1,430m2land; 250 working days for traffic and irrigation works and 345 trees for timber; construction of 1,065m of rural concrete roads...

The movement to build a cultural life and practice a civilized lifestyle has also been well implemented by the people; 100% of families have well implemented the regulations on civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals and festivals. In 2019, Long Tho hamlet had 170 households achieving the title of Cultural Family (accounting for 80.9%).

In particular, Long Tho hamlet, Giai Xuan commune is a mountainous area, where people's lives are still difficult. However, under the leadership of the Party Cell, hamlet, Front Work Committee and mass organizations, they have united, propagated and mobilized people to boldly change the structure of crops and livestock; built many effective economic development models to help reduce the poverty rate to 2.8%; average income per capita in 2019 is estimated at about 28.7 million VND...
Based on the achieved results, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee believes that with the attention of the Party, the State, and authorities at all levels, Long Tho hamlet residents will continue to strive to promote the spirit of solidarity, replicate typical models in all fields, and effective ways of economic development; together build an increasingly developed hamlet.

On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh presented 10 gifts to 10 poor families; attended the handover ceremony of the "Great Unity" house to the family of Mrs. Tran Thi Bao, Tan Mung hamlet (now Nuoc Xanh hamlet) and presented 40 million VND to support the construction of a "Great Unity" house for the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Duong, Quyet Tam hamlet, Gia Xuan commune, Tan Ky district, who are in difficult circumstances; and planted a great unity tree in Long Tho hamlet.
