Bomb with intact detonator in Thai Hoa Town
(Baonghean.vn) - This morning (April 29), the Military Command of Thai Hoa town coordinated with the Engineering Department of Nghe An Provincial Military Command to successfully detonate a 350kg bomb left over from the war.
Previously, at 8:00 a.m. on April 27, 2022, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh, residing in Quyet Thang block, Hoa Hieu ward, while searching for wood along the riverbank, discovered a bomb left over from the war with an intact detonator at the water's edge near the east of Hieu 1 Bridge in Kim Tan block, Hoa Hieu ward, Thai Hoa town.

After discovering the bomb, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh reported it to the local authorities and the Military Command of Thai Hoa town. Upon receiving the information, the Military Command of Thai Hoa town promptly sent a working group to the scene, and at the same time cordoned off the area, put up warning signs in the area, informed the people in the area, and mobilized the police and militia of Hoa Hieu ward to guard the area 24/7 to protect the safety of the bomb area.

The bomb was determined to be a demolition bomb about 1.6m long, about 40cm in diameter, with an intact detonator, no longer painted on the propeller blades, and rusted.

Using professional measures, the Engineering Department of the Provincial Military Command neutralized the detonator, coordinated with the Military Command of Thai Hoa town and the Military Command of Hoa Hieu ward to transport the bomb to the detonation site at Khe Coi, Lien Son block, Long Son ward, Thai Hoa town and successfully destroyed it, ensuring absolute safety.
