The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense offer incense and flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs at Truong Bon.
On the afternoon of July 13, a delegation of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, visited Truong Bon National Historical Site, My Son Commune, Do Luong District, Nghe An Province to offer incense and flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs.
Joining the delegation were Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh - Commander of Military Region 4; representatives of the Policy Department, General Department of Politics; Political Department of the General Staff; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Head of the Military Command of Nghe An province; and the Border Guard Command of Nghe An province.
Truong Bon, a sacred land, a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism, where the blood of comrades and compatriots was shed in the long march to liberate the nation and unify the country.
During the resistance war against the US, Truong Bon was the place where hundreds of thousands of young people crossed Truong Son to save the country; young men and women at the age of 18 and 20 went into the fire with optimism and responsibility to protect the Fatherland. 1,240 outstanding children fell on the legendary road, typically the heroic sacrifice of 13 young volunteers of Company 317 on October 31, 1968.
In the sacred atmosphere, Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh and the delegation respectfully offered flowers and incense at the mass grave of 13 heroic martyrs of the 317th Youth Volunteer Company and at the Memorial House of 1,240 heroic martyrs. The delegation expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the great contributions of the outstanding children who did not spare their blood and bones, fought bravely and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and reunification.
The delegation pledges absolute loyalty to the Fatherland, the Party, and the People, and continues to strive, unite, and build an increasingly prosperous, strong, and civilized country. Determined to build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern Vietnam People's Army to firmly protect the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
