Quy Chau promotes the development of horned cattle
(Baonghean.vn) - Currently, Quy Chau district has over 19,000 buffaloes, nearly 10,000 cows and over 4,200 goats. Many communes are developing livestock in the direction of commodities in large numbers.
According to statistics, Chau Hoan commune currently has many grasslands, which can be developed well for raising buffalo, cows and goats. Currently, the commune has more than 2,300 buffalo, cows and goats and the number of animals is maintained and increased every year.
Mr. Vi Hai Duc's family - Mo Pom village, Chau Hoan commune, Quy Chau district previously only raised 1-2 buffaloes for pulling. Realizing that raising buffaloes is economically effective, his family boldly invested in raising them and now has 20 buffaloes and cows, worth several hundred million VND.
Mr. Vi Hai Duc shared: “In mountainous areas, if you want to escape poverty, you only have to rely on raising buffaloes and cows. When you need to spend a large amount of money, selling 1-2 buffaloes or cows can help. People here raise buffaloes and cows to take care of their children’s education, build houses, and get their children married…”

Chau Hoi Commune is also a locality that has been developing its economy from raising large livestock. Many households have turned raising buffaloes, cows, goats, etc. into their main occupation, bringing in income and a legitimate way to get rich.
The family of Mr. Lang Thanh Tung - Ban Hoi 1, Chau Hoi commune is one of the pioneers in economic development by raising buffaloes and cows. He said: “With an area of more than 4 hectares of acacia trees, only more than 3km from home, grazing is also very convenient. When the acacia trees are 3 years old, buffaloes and cows can be released here. Raising buffaloes and cows brings more economic benefits than other animals. Raising a herd of 20 buffaloes, giving birth to 8-10 each year, brings a profit of 70-80 million VND.”
Quy Chau is a mountainous district with hilly terrain and difficult transportation, but has its own advantages for developing large-scale livestock farming such as: Large natural land area, many pastures for large-scale livestock farming; abundant agricultural by-products... This is an economic development direction that brings opportunities to escape poverty for ethnic groups in the district.
