New color of Da Son
(Baonghean.vn) - Located in the southwest of Do Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Da Son used to be a particularly difficult hamlet, but in recent years, thanks to the focus on promoting the national target program on building new rural areas, the Catholic and non-Catholic people here have promoted the spirit of solidarity, joining hands to build the hamlet to become more and more prosperous.
As a mixed Catholic hamlet with 126 households and 470 people, including 30 Catholic households, living in an unfavorable area, surrounded by hills and mountains, and barren land; facing that reality, the Party cell and the executive committee of Da Son hamlet have had many action programs that are close to the actual situation such as focusing on planning, improving rural traffic, building a system of intra-field canals to serve production and people's lives; shifting the structure of crops and livestock... many households have contracted out bad lands to invest in building farms and ranches, providing stable income.

Thanks to the right policy, in line with the people's wishes, it has gradually changed the thinking and way of doing business, the material and spiritual life of the people has changed a lot, raising the average income per capita to 35 million VND/year, in the village there are only 3 poor households left.

Among the 10 households in the hamlet participating in the farm, we must mention the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - a typical example in the local economic movement. If before, after each harvest season, he had to struggle in many places to find work, with unstable income, poverty still clinging to him; then since the commune completed the land consolidation and had a policy of land contracting, he boldly accepted a piece of wasteland to transform into a rice-fish model, building a comprehensive economic farm.
After 2 years of investment and development, the model now has an income of 150 million VND/year. In the near future, his family plans to continue investing in building a solid barn system to expand the scale of pig and goat farming, especially eel farming in mud-free cement tanks, opening up a new business direction with higher income.

From a poor neighborhood, people have now built many solid and spacious houses and purchased all modern amenities. Economic development is a condition for people to contribute to building their homeland. Notably, in the movement to build a new countryside, up to 70 households have voluntarily donated 1,400 m2Garden land, residential land to expand village roads and alleys.
Next, the people contributed more than 600 million VND to concrete a village road over 1 km long to ensure standards.
In particular, in the past 2 years, the women's association has pioneered the "5 no, 3 clean" movement, contributing to improving the quality of the criteria of the New Rural Commune. Along the village roads, women have planted flowers, shade trees and placed 12 stone benches, creating a "Bright, green, clean, beautiful" rural landscape.

As a mixed Catholic hamlet, there is a church, rural security is always guaranteed; the village is closely connected; religious and secular affairs are shared, one heart joins hands to build the homeland; cultural, artistic and sports movements are always maintained, all backward customs are pushed back; the movement to encourage learning and talent is taken care of by the whole population.
Currently, many children are studying at prestigious universities in the country. In addition to investing in roads and canals, the villagers also built a majestic village gate; contributed 470 million VND to build a spacious cultural house and a playground of over 1,000 m2.2serving the living and entertainment needs of the people.
Coming to Da Son hamlet today, everyone is surprised by the changes of a poor village. Next to the spacious high-rise buildings are clean concrete roads, colorful flower paths; green fields all year round are covered with fresh colors, full of vitality, worthy of being typical in the movement "All people unite to build new countryside" of the locality.
To achieve the results we have today, in addition to promoting the role of the Party organization, the dynamism of the hamlet cadres, mass organizations, and the consensus of the people, the hamlet cadres also regularly coordinate closely with the parish council, mobilizing people to promote the spirit of solidarity, effectively implementing the socio-economic development targets; security and order set out annually. In which, people are encouraged to boldly invest in developing household economy, legitimately enriching themselves right on their homeland.
With the achievements that the people of Da Son hamlet have achieved, the local Party Committee and government have recognized and highly appreciated, and at the same time directed the hamlet to successfully build the title of "Cultural Village" in 2019.
