Sacombank donates 500 million VND to support people in flood-hit Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - In order to help people in the Central provinces affected by floods stabilize their lives, on the afternoon of January 22, Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank) presented gifts to support households in the flood-affected areas of Nghe An that suffered heavy losses due to floods in October 2020.
Attending the gift-giving ceremony were Mr. Phan Dinh Tue - Party Secretary, Deputy General Director of Sacombank, representative of Sacombank Nghe An branch, leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and leaders of Hung Nguyen, Nam Dan and Nghi Loc districts.

In Vinh city, the delegation visited and presented the symbol of support for the above amount to the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and directly went to Xuan Lam Kindergarten (Hung Nguyen district) to cut the ribbon to inaugurate the canteen project sponsored by Sacombank and presented gifts to the school.
Next, the delegation went to Nam Dan town, Nam Dan district and Nghi Dong commune (Nghi Loc) to present 250 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, of which 120 gifts were for people in flooded communes of Nam Dan district and 130 gifts were for people in flooded areas of Nghi Loc district.

Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, on behalf of the Board of Directors of Sacombank, Mr. Phan Dinh Tue, Deputy General Director of Sacombank visited and encouraged people in flood-affected areas.
Sacombank's leaders said that in the context of difficult production and business conditions due to the Covid-19 pandemic and storms and floods in 2020, with the motto ""Develop together"In business operations, Sacombank has shared difficulties with 700 individual and corporate customers in the Central region with interest exemption and debt restructuring of up to VND 500 billion in 2020 and will continue to accompany customers in 2021 and the following years.

Representatives of local leaders sincerely thanked the working group. Sacombank also coordinated with the Vietnam Youth Union to organize 3 online walks/runs "Steps for the community" to raise funds to build community cultural houses for ethnic minorities.
Previously, nearly 600 Sacombank employees nationwide contributed nearly 700 units of blood in the humanitarian blood donation program "Sharing from the heart" in 2020. The entire amount of blood was received by the provincial humanitarian blood donation centers and transferred to the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center, contributing to overcoming the blood shortage at medical facilities.

On this journey, Sacombank visited the people of 8 Central provinces including Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh and Nghe An with practical activities such as directly visiting and giving gifts to poor households, giving bicycles, windbreakers, and helmets to students in difficult circumstances and at schools that were severely damaged, building resettlement houses for households affected by landslides, and repairing schools. In the coming time, Sacombank will also continue to organize the annual "Warm Spring 18" series of activities in 52 provinces and cities of Vietnam and the two neighboring countries of Laos and Cambodia to share the joy of spring to welcome the Lunar New Year 2021 with people in difficult circumstances.
