Vinh Airport welcomed more than 1.3 million passengers in the first 6 months of the year
(Baonghean.vn) - The number of passengers passing through Vinh airport in the first 6 months of the year was higher than the same period in 2022, with many passengers choosing Nghe An as a destination during the tourist season.
According to information from Vinh International Airport, the number of passengers passing through the port has improved in the first 6 months of 2023. Specifically, Vinh airport welcomed more than 1.3 million passengers, an increase of 105% compared to the first 6 months of 2022. In particular, the routes with the highest number of passengers are Vinh - Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh - Hanoi, Vinh - Nha Trang...

The number of flights taking off and landing at Vinh airport in the first 6 months of the year was 8,835, an increase of 106% over the same period last year. In addition to transporting passengers, the amount of goods and parcels sent by air at Vinh airport also reached 2.5 tons.
The above figures show that the demand for air travel has changed positively. A representative of Vinh International Airport said that among passengers arriving in Nghe An by air, in addition to work purposes and returning home, there are also many tourists from other provinces and cities who choose Nghe An as a tourist and resort destination. Especially in May and June, the number of tourists through Vinh airport increased compared to previous months.
In the first 6 months of the year, passenger travel through Vinh airport encountered a few incidents such as fog blocking visibility in February 2023, and the airport runway peeling off early last month. However, Vinh International Airport directed forces to handle the situation promptly, without much impact on passenger schedules.

For international flights, Vinh airport currently only operates the Vinh - Taiwan route in the form of charter with a frequency of 1 - 2 flights/month. Previously, Vinh airport operated the Vinh - Bangkok (Thailand) and Vinh - Vientiane (Laos) routes, but they have stopped operating due to insufficient passenger numbers to meet these flights.
