Of which: Mining industry decreased by 4.91% over the same period; Processing and manufacturing industry increased by 18.02%. The production index of the processing industry increased because some factories have been operating stably, besides, the cold weather since the beginning of the year is suitable for milk cows, so the source of raw materials is abundant for TH milk factory to run at full capacity.

Production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning increased by 6.83%; Water supply, wastewater and waste management and treatment increased by 11.31% over the same period.

Some products have increased quite a bit compared to the same period last year such as: Steel sheet (181.9 thousand tons, up 330%), cement (810.4 thousand tons, up 47.19%), fresh concrete (59.21 thousand m3).³, up 32.41%), yogurt (5,583.8 tons, up 28.01%), uncondensed milk and cream (47.71 million liters, up 18.06%), sugar (82,097.5 tons, up 15.58%), commercial electricity (699.4 million kWh, up 15.24%),...

Some industrial products have low growth and decrease due to reduced consumption, large inventories so factories limit production to consume products such as: Paper packaging decreased by 40.16% compared to the same period; Steel pipes decreased by 39.63%; Wood chips decreased by 32.55%; speakers decreased by 22.37%; Animal feed decreased by 17.72%; Knitted shirts decreased by 19.54%...

According to the Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Hoang Van Tam, in the coming time, the industry will focus on strongly developing industry, focusing on processing and manufacturing industries; supporting industries, and industries serving agriculture associated with advantages in developing agricultural, forestry and fishery raw materials. Making good use of the capacity of operating processing plants such as beer, milk, hydropower, textile, Nghia Dan MDF, Hoa Sen corrugated iron..., especially projects completed in 2017 to make good use of capacity in 2018 such as: Song Lam Cement Plant; Nghi Thiet Grinding Station; Hoa Sen Dong Hoi corrugated iron factory; hydropower plants; MDF wood factories.

It is expected that this year, hydropower projects such as Chi Khe Hydropower Plant (41MW); Song Quang Plant (12MW); Xoong Con Plant (15MW)... will be completed and put into operation.
