(Baonghean.vn)- Since the 29th of Tet, chicken trading and butchering service stores in Vinh city have been overloaded, many stores have had to refuse to accept new orders.

Hung Dung Market, Vinh City has 10 shops specializing in selling and butchering chicken. On the morning of the 30th of the Lunar New Year, most of the other shops were deserted, many shops such as clothing and footwear shops were closed. Only the shops selling butchering chicken were still crowded, lining up inside and outside waiting for their turn.

Ms. Ngo Thi Lan in Trung Tien block, Hung Dung ward, was waiting to get her chicken. She said that she brought her family's live chicken to the market at 8am to ask the butcher to shape it for the New Year's Eve offering that evening. When she got there, there were already more than a dozen people waiting. Ms. Lan waited for nearly 2 hours but it was still not her chicken's turn to be butchered.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung, whose house is not far from the market, brought live chickens to the market's chicken butcher shops at 9am, but was told they would not accept any more orders because there were too many unfinished orders. Ms. Dung had to take them home and do them herself.

Because of the large number of customers, the chicken butchering service points in the market have increased the number of staff by three or four times, but still cannot cope. Some stores have increased the number of staff by 10, including one person who is responsible for receiving orders and writing down customer names to avoid confusion.

In addition to overload, the price of chicken butchering is also higher than usual. On the morning of the 30th of Tet, each clean chicken is butchered for 20 thousand VND, if it is styled, it is 30 thousand VND.

Although the price has increased, people are still happy to pay for the convenience, helping housewives avoid the hardship and hustle of preparing the feast for the last day of the old year.
