The project to handle landslides on Nguoc mountain in Thanh Chuong is about to be completed.
From June 18, 2024 to present, the Nguoc mountain landslide treatment project has been actively implemented and is now almost completed, ensuring safety for people traveling through here.

Nguoc Mountain is located on National Highway 46B in Thanh Ngoc and Ngoc Son communes (Thanh Chuong), with quite rugged terrain, high mountains on one side and deep rivers on the other. For many years, serious landslides have occurred here, and the risk of traffic insecurity is always present.
Faced with the above situation, on June 18, 2024, the Vietnam Directorate for Roads deployed the Project "Handling landslides on section KM39 +200 - KM39 +750 of National Highway 46B, Nghe An province" invested by the Department of Road Management II.

According to the project, all landslides and rockfalls of Nguoc Mountain will be thoroughly treated, then 8-12m high, with 5-6 structures depending on the height of the mountain. In particular, National Highway 46B passing through Nguoc Mountain has 3 curves, now it will be treated to create 2 curves, widen the roadway at the foot of the mountain, and create stone cages along the mountain for safe travel.
A representative of Road Management Area II said: Up to this point, the project to handle landslides on Nguoc Mountain in Thanh Chuong has completed over 95% of the volume, currently handling landslides, creating jerks from above, and expanding the roadway at the foot of the mountain. Currently, the construction unit is deploying stone embankments, installing guardrails, and is expected to be completed and put into use by January 6.

Mr. Le Dinh Thanh - Vice Chairman of Thanh Chuong District People's Committee said: National Highway 46B is the main route connecting Thanh Chuong District with Vinh City and neighboring areas. Therefore, the upcoming Nguoc Mountain landslide treatment project will be very important to ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles passing through here.
