(Baonghean.vn) - The 2018 rainy and stormy season is approaching, bringing with it the fear of landslides for 32 households in Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district, located in the Nam Non hydropower reservoir. This situation has been going on for many years but has not been resolved, while the risk of landslides affecting people's lives and property is always present.

Anxious, worried, not daring to stay, not willing to leave is the state of mind that has been going on for many years for Ms. Lo Thi Na in La village, Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district, when the house she is living in has cracks, in danger of collapsing at any time. Ms. Na said that this crack appeared 2 years ago and every rainy season it gets wider, so she is very worried.CShe said: What is the house like?I'm also very worried. Every rainy season I run to stay at her house.

Also at risk of landslides like Ms. Na's family, Luong Minh commune has 31 other households, including 8 families with extremely serious landslides, needing to be urgently relocated. According to Mr. Lo Van Hung - Vice Chairman of Luong Minh Commune People's Committee, at the end of 2017, a delegation came to survey and count the landslide situation of the households, but up to this point, the investor, Nam Mo - Nam Non Hydropower Company, still has no plan to relocate.

It is worth mentioning that in order to completely resolve this issue, the People's Committee of Nghe An province also issued Notice No. 597/TB-UBND dated October 7, 2017 on the conclusion of Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, urging the investor, Nam Mo - Nam Non Hydropower Company, to coordinate with Tuong Duong district to urgently relocate the above households, no later than the first quarter of 2018.

At the same time, Tuong Duong district has issued a document proposing a relocation site of more than 3 hectares, with a total cost of over 15 billion VND, but until now there has been no response from the investor.Mr. Kha Van Ot - Vice Chairman of Tuong Duong District People's Committee said:The district People's Committee has also requested the investor to support funding for the urgent relocation of these 32 households, but up to this point the investor has not yet done so.

This year's storm season is approaching, more than ever, authorities at all levels, especially the investor of the Nam Non hydropower project, need to have a plan to urgently evacuate households at risk of landslides to a safe place, helping people stabilize their lives and avoid unfortunate damage.
