Nghe An students in Hue sell oranges to raise funds to support fellow countrymen with serious illnesses

(Baonghean.vn) - After 2 days of selling oranges and cakes, the Nghe An Student Association in Hue has raised 85 million VND to help student Vuong Dinh Hieu from Tan Ky district who has cancer.

Mr. Hieu is a 5th year student, Faculty of Animal Husbandry - Veterinary Medicine, University ofuniversityNong Lam (Hue University), has kidney failure. For over a year now, he has had to quit school to undergo dialysis at Hue Central Hospital. His mother had to quit her job at home to come to Hue to take care of her son.

Hieu's family in Dong Van commune (Tan Ky) is very poor. To have the expensesdialysisand to eat and stay in the hospital for a long time, the family had to borrow money everywhere. Up to now, his illness has progressed to the final stage, he needs a kidney transplant to save his life.

To save his son, Hieu's father donated one of his kidneys. The doctor said that the test results of Hieu's father's kidney were suitable for a kidney transplant for his son and that the transplant would be performed in the near future. Currently, Hieu's family needs a large amount of money for surgery and post-operative care for both father and son.

Understanding Hieu's situation, the Association of Fellow CountrymenNghe An studentsIn Hue, a charity program was organized to sell oranges and gai cakes to raise funds with the desire to share the difficulties with Hieu's family at this time.

To carry out the plan, the Association of Fellow Countrymen contacted Nghe An to transfer Quy Hop oranges andsticky rice cakeMr. Son went to Hue to sell. The program received enthusiastic support and help from teachers, students, Student Associations from other provinces, Hue people... so in just 2 days, the volunteers sold out 4 tons of oranges and 3,000 pairs of gai cakes.

Along with selling goods, the association also receives help and donations through accounts posted on the group of fellow countrymen. At the end of the charity program, the association raised 85 million VND.

At noon on April 11, at the Department of Nephrology of Hue Central Hospital, after visiting, encouraging and sharing with Mr. Hieu and his family, the representative of Nghe An Student Association in Hue gave this amount of money to his family.

Mr. Le Van Bien - President of the Nghe An Student Association at Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry said: Selling goods to raise funds to help students in difficult circumstances is an activity that the association has organized for many years.

The program of selling oranges and cakes to raise funds to help Mr. Hieu received support from many people and brought practical results. Hopefully, this amount of money will help him have more money for medical treatment, and timely encourage him and his family in difficult times.

It is known that more than 15 days before, the Nghe An Student Association in Hue also coordinated with the Quang Tri Student Association to organize a program to sell gai cakes to raise funds to help student Nguyen Duc Hau (from Hai Lang commune, Quang Tri province) studying at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry - Veterinary Medicine, Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry, who has soft tissue cancer and had to have his leg amputated.

In this program, volunteers from the Nghe An Student Association sold 4,700 pairs of Banh Gai, contributing an additional 35 million VND to help student Nguyen Duc Hau. Both students are currently being treated at Hue Central Hospital.
