This unfortunate incident happened at noon on April 29. At around 12 noon, a group of 5 students went to Hieu River, passing through Long Son Ward, Thai Hoa Town to swim. However, unfortunately, 3 students were sucked into deep water and drowned. All 3 students were cousins, including 2 sisters.
Visiting the families of the three unfortunate students Tran Kim Xuyen and Tran Van Luyen in Dong Tien hamlet, Nghia Dan district and Phung Thi Mai in Long Son ward, Thai Hoa town, Director of the Department of Education and Training Thai Van Thanh shared the great loss of the family. At the same time, he encouraged the family to try to overcome the pain to stabilize their lives.
To improve propaganda on drowning prevention and reduce the situation of students swimming in rivers and streams without permission, the Director of the Department of Education and Training also requested the Departments of Education and Training and high schools in the province to strengthen propaganda work to raise awareness of drowning prevention. "In May, propaganda on drowning prevention must be the focus of class activities, flag salutes and other extracurricular activities to remind students to absolutely not swim in rivers, streams or dangerous places," said the Director of the Department of Education and Training.
