Exciting "arena" of red-whiskered bulbuls in the Northern provinces
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 2, in Do Luong district, Do Luong Red-whiskered Bulbul Club coordinated with the Northern Red-whiskered Bulbul Association to organize the "Arena 128" competition.

Arena 128 is the gathering place of 128 excellent birds selected from thousands of birds through the Red-whiskered Bulbul Club competitions of many Red-whiskered Bulbul clubs in provinces and cities: Hanoi, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri.
The contest rules include: singing and fighting between the red-whiskered bulbuls. The birds that are eliminated are those that give up the fight, preen their feathers, fluff their feathers, turn around, or flip. The birds that make it to the next round are those that have a good floor performance, sing, spread their wings, and intimidate their opponents by singing a chirping sound, spreading their wings, and spreading their tails.

After 25 rounds of fierce competition, each round lasting an average of 7 minutes, under the close supervision of the referee team of the Northern Starling Association, the organizing committee selected the 34 best birds to award prizes.
In the end, the organizers awarded 10 Top 20 prizes, each worth an electric fan; 6 Top 10 prizes, each worth a 32-inch TV. Artist Lam Nguyen of the Do Luong Red-whiskered Bulbul Club - owner of Red-whiskered Bulbul No. 122 won first prize with a motorbike worth 21 million VND./.
