Exciting bird singing contest at Con Temple Festival

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 24, within the framework of the 2019 Con Temple Festival, the contest "Bird singing to welcome spring 2019" was held in Quynh Phuong ward (Hoang Mai town, Nghe An).

The bird singing contest is a unique activity in the annual Con Temple Festival. From early morning, many bird players from Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces brought their bird to the contest.

The contest gathered 143 bird cages from bird enthusiasts in and outside the province.

Each artist brought their best singing birds and most beautiful cages to the contest. Mr. Hoang Phuc Quan (46 years old) in Quy Hop district said: This morning he brought 6 bird cages to the contest, not hoping to win any prizes but just thinking to contribute to the fun.

The competition went through more than 15 rounds, the referees had to "strain their ears" to always try to do the most fair work, the bird owners waited anxiously.

In each round, birds that make mistakes such as bathing, messing up, competing poorly, giving up, ruffling feathers... will be gradually eliminated from the ring.

In the competition, bird owners are allowed to take care of their birds once in the following rounds according to the rules.

After more than 10 rounds of competition on the arena, there are 30 bird cages left. The birds that meet the criteria of voice and vocal competition (singing regularly, the voice must have at least 3 syllables), competitive attitude (flexible, able to jump, transfer the bridge, flutter the wings), endurance in competition (birds that can sing many voices), and posture (slim, strong, fast birds...) will be the winning birds. Right at the competition, many birds were sold for 10 - 20 million VND.

After more than 4 hours and many fun rounds, the competition was a great success. The owners of the Top 4 winning birds were awarded cups, certificates and prizes. The first prize was a motorbike worth 11,500,000 VND, the second prize was a TV worth 5,500,000 VND, the third prize was a microwave oven worth 5,000,000 VND, in addition to the top 10, 20, 30 prizes. The total prize value was more than 33 million VND.
