Looking at the process of striving to know whether the staff is worthy or not?
Through reviewing and evaluating the actual process of striving and performing tasks of cadres and party members, we can know whether they are greedy for power or not.
The Politburo recently issued regulations on title standards and criteria for evaluating cadres under the management of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat. This is the first time the Politburo has regulated this issue and has received widespread support from cadres, party members, and the public.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truong, a retired cadre in Thanh Xuan Bac, Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi, said that the Politburo's regulations on title standards and criteria for evaluating cadres under the management of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat are very timely and accurate.
According to Mr. Truong, the regulations on title standards and criteria for evaluating cadres are of special importance. If done well, they will have positive and solid results in Party building work. Organizing and directing the building of cadres is decisive for the fate of the country, the survival of the regime and the prestige and effectiveness of the Party in leading the people.
“People all realize that currently a number of cadres and party members have degraded their political ethics, leading to a loss of trust among the people. This regulation was issued very promptly and is strongly supported by cadres and party members. We hope that this regulation will soon be disseminated to grassroots party cells so that all party members can see their tasks in the new revolutionary period, how to gain the trust of the people,” Mr. Truong expressed his opinion.
The Politburo stipulates that cadres under the management of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat must be cadres who are absolutely not ambitious for power. Because cadres who are ambitious for power will not wholeheartedly serve the people. However, the only way to know that a cadre is not greedy for power is by "examining" their entire process of striving and the effectiveness of their work.
Mr. Pham The Duyet, former member of the Politburo, former Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, said: “Nowadays, it is not easy to look directly at who has ambitions for power. But the whole process, everyone can see, has tried to run for positions, has bribed superiors, has polished himself... but that process is still very simple, not stable and has not shown that the person has met the criteria set by the Central Committee. In my opinion, the criteria are very correct, but the assessment must look at life, family, the work process itself from bottom to top, from low to high, to fully evaluate”.
The majority of cadres, party members and people also highly appreciate the regulation that cadres must be the center of solidarity, exemplary in all aspects, not corrupt, resolutely fight to prevent and push back degradation in political ideology, ethics and lifestyle; absolutely not let relatives and acquaintances take advantage of their positions and powers for personal gain.
In particular, the regulation of specific standards for each position of Minister and equivalent, head of central political and social organizations, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Central City Party Committee, Chairman of People's Council, People's Committee of province, city, is very important.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Vang, Secretary of Party Cell 16, Viet Hung Ward, Long Bien District, Hanoi, affirmed that many localities have not strictly followed the instructions of superiors.
“The current leadership of many provinces has the phenomenon of “beating drums in one direction and blowing trumpets in the other”. That is, implementing the Resolutions and policies of the Central Government - I see that some provinces are very weak. Therefore, rectifying by standardizing and cadre criteria like this is very suitable for us to fight corruption and at the same time perfecting the Party organization to be strong in organization and steadfast in spirit”, Mr. Vang shared his opinion.
To know that a cadre or party member is not greedy for power, it is only possible through examining and evaluating the entire process of striving and performing tasks of the cadre or party member, especially leaders holding important positions in the Party and Government.
That process of striving is a long journey with many difficulties and complications, and is also a struggle with each person to overcome their own limitations, weaknesses, and shortcomings./.
