Song Lam Nghe An selects 20 players to participate in the National U9 Tournament

In preparation for the 2024 National U9 Tournament, Song Lam Nghe An Youth Football Training Center has organized a selection round for players in the U8 and U9 age groups. The athletes come from 25 satellite classes, located in 17 districts, cities and towns across Nghe An province.

This selection round has 137 athletes participating, including 134 players from the 2015 age group and 3 players from the 2016 age group. Notably, there are 2 candidates from Quang Binh province.

To ensure the selection process is transparent, practical, and does not miss any talent, the center has established an Athlete Selection Council. This Council is chaired by Mr. Tran Quang Dung - Director of Song Lam Nghe An Youth Football Training Center and 11 experienced coaches.

137 athletes will participate in the preliminary round which will take place over 2 days. The contestants will be divided into 2 teams of 5 people each to compete against each other. The judges will evaluate the players based on criteria such as playing technique, thinking, physique... to score.

Through the preliminary round, Song Lam Nghe An has selected 45 athletes. These 45 players continue to be classified into groups A, B, C and continue to be tested one last time.

And after 5 days of careful selection, Song Lam Nghe An Youth Football Training Center has chosen 20 excellent athletes to sign contracts.

Mr. Tran Quang Dung assessed: “Currently, the Song Lam Nghe An youth football training center is aiming for clean football, saying no to age fraud, so the selection board carefully and meticulously checks the application review process. Absolutely do not let over-age players participate in the selection. After 5 days of selection, I see that this year's U9 players have quite even quality. Among them, many possess outstanding qualities. That is because the amateur coaches in 25 satellite classes of Song Lam Nghe An have organized a very methodical and professional search and training. I hope that the group of players who have signed contracts will compete successfully in the national U9 tournament held in mid-August. Those who are not selected this time should not be too sad. If you have passion, continue to practice hard, the door to Song Lam Nghe An is still very open to you."

After being selected, 20 athletes will be signed a 3-month contract by Song Lam Nghe An. However, after May 31, the players will be returned to their hometowns to participate in the 2024 Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth - Children's Football Tournament.

After the Nghe An Newspaper Cup ends, the athletes will have 2 months to eat, stay and practice at the club. On August 10, these 20 players will leave for Gia Lai to participate in the 2024 National U9 Finals.

At the end of the national U9 tournament, Song Lam Nghe An will terminate contracts with U9 players.
