Using crystal meth and then committing robbery

On February 5, Gia Lam District Police, Hanoi, announced that the unit had issued a decision to temporarily detain Doan Anh Duc (born in 1983 - has a previous conviction for Fraudulent Appropriation of Property), residing in Van Dien Town, Thanh Tri, Hanoi, and Do Van Anh (born in 1988 - has a previous conviction for Murder), residing in Yen Vien Town, Gia Lam, to investigate the act of Robbery.

According to investigation documents, at around 8:00 p.m. on February 2, Van Anh and Duc were driving a motorbike on Thien Duc Street, Yen Vien Town, Gia Lam, when they discovered a motorbike driven by a middle-aged man carrying two women.

Immediately, Do Van Anh approached Duc to snatch the bag that the woman in the middle was holding, inside there was nearly 1.6 million VND and some personal documents. During this process, the victim's motorbike fell onto the road, and the two women immediately had to go to the hospital for first aid.

Witnessing the incident, the people present on Thien Duc Street together with the victim shouted and determined to chase the two robbers. The encirclement was tightened with timely support from Yen Vien Town Police and Gia Lam District Police Criminal Investigation Team. A few minutes after fleeing a few hundred meters, the two robbers were controlled and arrested.

At the police station, the identities of the two robbers were identified as Doan Anh Duc and Do Van Anh. The victims riding on a motorbike were Mr. Phung Tien An (born in 1962) and his wife Nguyen Thi Nhung, residing in Duc Giang ward, Long Bien district, Hanoi; and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Lan, residing in Long Bien district.

According to the confessions of Duc and Anh, on the evening of February 2, after using synthetic drugs, the subjects drove a Wave motorbike with license plate number 29N1-241.03, circling Yen Vien and Thien Duc streets (Yen Vien town), aiming to find loopholes and snatch property. The case is being further investigated by Gia Lam District Police./.
