Repairing Chom Lom suspension bridge where the tragic boat sinking occurred
(Baonghean.vn) - Con Cuong district is focusing on repairing the Chom Lom suspension bridge in Lang Khe commune, to ensure traffic flow for people during the upcoming storm season. This bridge was born from a tragic boat sinking in 2006.
After storm No. 4 in 2018, water from upstream poured in, forcing hydroelectric plants along Lam River to simultaneously discharge floodwaters at a large volume, causing the Chom Lom (Con Cuong) bridge pier on the right bank, in the South, to break, with a 7m long crack, causing travel and traffic to stagnate.
