Extremely rare, most expensive cup of coffee in the world costs 1.2 million VND
When it comes to the most expensive coffee in the world, people often think of Indonesia's Kopi Luwak. But the rarest and most expensive coffee comes from Panama, called Esmeralda Geisha Canãs Verdes Natural.
The Esmeralda Geisha Canãs Verdes Natural coffee is also known as the Geisha 601 because it sold at auction for $601 per pound or 450 grams – the highest price for any coffee in the world.

Grown on a single plantation in the hillsides of Panama, only 628.22 kg of ripe red coffee cherries were harvested on February 20, 2017. The cherry-colored cherries were dried on concrete floors for eight days until they reached the ideal moisture content of 10.5%.
After careful processing, only 68.04 kg of green coffee (unroasted) remained, just enough to enter the Best of Panama competition and the subsequent auction.
Coffee is dried on concrete yard.
After a five-hour auction, the Australian and Japanese companies bid $60,100 for 100 pounds, or $601 per pound. A record high for green coffee beans at auction. And only one company in the United States managed to buy 11 pounds of these precious beans, enough to make 250 cups of coffee, each cup costing no less than $55.
A cup of coffee costs about 1.2 million VND, but only 250 lucky people across the US will get to enjoy it.
This coffee is described as a taste explosion with the most prominent aromas being lychee and jasmine, and any coffee fan is advised to try it at least once in their lifetime.
