Detain driver who drove car and crashed into traffic police on hood
Nghe An police have detained driver Le Thanh Cong (born in 1980, residing in Tan Nam block, Truong Vinh ward) to investigate the act of resisting a person performing official duties, after he drove his car head-on into a traffic police officer, flipped the hood, and continued to run away.
Previously, Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television reported that the incident occurred at around 5:35 p.m. on October 20, 2025, at the intersection of Nguyen Phong Sac and Nguyen Duy Trinh streets, in Truong Vinh ward (formerly Hung Dung ward), Nghe An province.
According to a clip recorded by people and shared on social networks, a black 7-seat Mitsubishi car with license plate 37A-644.42 was signaled to stop by traffic police. However, the driver did not comply and continued driving, despite a traffic police officer lying on the hood.
At the time, the working group of Traffic Police Team No. 4 (Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Province Police) was on duty to regulate traffic in the area where the congestion occurred, especially in front of the gate of Hung Dung 1 Primary School. When detecting a car showing signs of obstructing traffic flow when turning left, an officer in the working group signaled to change direction. However, the driver not only did not comply but also drove the car straight into this officer, flipped the hood, and continued driving about 30 meters on Nguyen Duy Trinh Street.
Due to traffic jam, the vehicle was forced to stop. Immediately after that, the driver still showed an uncooperative attitude with the authorities. Traffic police coordinated with the people to quickly control this person and took him to the Truong Vinh Ward Police Station.
