Strengthening control of mining enterprises in Quy Hop

(Baonghean.vn)- Voters of Chau Hong commune, Quy Hop district petitioned the competent authorities to grant licenses to companies and enterprises to exploit minerals too close to residential areas, such as: the stone quarry of Trung Hai enterprise operating right next to Provincial Road 532, blasting rocks into people's houses and affecting production and travel of people. The competent authority responded to this issue as follows:

Trung Hai Nghe An Minerals and Trading Joint Stock Company (abbreviated as Trung Hai Company) was granted a license to exploit tin ore in Pha Liu area, Chau Hong commune, Quy Hop district by the Provincial People's Committee according to Decision No. 2319/QD-UBND.TN dated June 23, 2011, area of ​​2.7 hectares, term of 05 years.

During the mineral exploitation process, Trung Hai Company has conducted exploration to upgrade mineral reserves, which was directed by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in Document No. 2261/BTNMT-ĐCKS dated June 8, 2015, and the Provincial People's Committee approved the reserves in Decision No. 2584/QD-UBND dated June 23, 2015. On that basis, Trung Hai Company prepared a dossier to request a mining license according to the approved reserves.

Through reviewing and checking the dossier of granting mineral exploitation license to Trung Hai Company, it shows that the above-mentioned mining area was commented by the Department of Transport in Document No. 697/SGTVT-KH.TH dated May 25, 2011 (outside the safety area of ​​the traffic corridor), the People's Committee of Quy Hop district unanimously granted the license in Document No. 289/UBND-TNMT dated May 27, 2011, the People's Committee of Chau Hong commune unanimously granted the license in Document No. 22/UBND-DC dated June 1, 2011, the Department of Industry and Trade commented in Document No. 201/SCT.KTAT-MT dated June 29, 2015, the Environmental Impact Assessment Report and the Environmental Improvement and Restoration Project were approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 3316/QD-UBND dated July 31, 2015.

In fact, the mining area is close to Provincial Road 532, so the process of mining, gathering and transporting minerals has been affecting people and vehicles traveling through this route and affecting some households living near the mining area.

Currently, implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, relevant departments and the People's Committee of Quy Hop district, the People's Committee of Chau Hong commune has been strengthening the inspection, examination and supervision of the construction stone exploitation activities of Trung Hai Company in the above-mentioned mine area, ensuring that exploration and exploitation in the mine area are in accordance with the provisions of law./.
