(Baonghean.vn) - During the Dien Bien Phu campaign, the Campaign Command Headquarters commanded by General Vo Nguyen Giap was located in an old forest at the foot of Pu Don Mountain, Muong Phang Commune, Dien Bien District, 38km from Dien Bien Phu City. Here, General Vo Nguyen Giap and his General Staff directly commanded the campaign for 105 days, from January 31, 1954 to May 15, 1954. Therefore, this was considered the most important headquarters of the historic Dien Bien Phu campaign.
