Focus on promoting important foreign events of the country
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 8, the Central Propaganda Department held the September 2023 Reporters Conference, in a combination of in-person and online formats.
At the Central bridge, comrade Phan Xuan Thuy - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department chaired the conference. At the Nghe An bridge, comrade Tran Quoc Khanh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department chaired the conference.
Here, the reporters were informed by Dr. Thai Van Tai - Director of the Department of Primary Education, Ministry of Education and Training about the key tasks of the 2023-2024 school year and the major orientations of the Education and Training sector in the coming time.

In the 2022-2023 school year, the country will have 37,619 public preschool and general education facilities; of which, there are 12,152 preschool schools, 12,354 primary schools, 10,672 secondary schools and 2,441 high schools.
On average, each commune-level unit (10,599 communes) has at least 1 kindergarten, 1 primary school and 1 secondary school, each district-level unit (705 districts) has at least 2 high schools. At the end of the 2022-2023 school year, the total number of preschool and general education teachers is 1,234,124 people (an increase of 71,927 people compared to the 2021-2022 school year).

On August 23, 2023, the Minister of Education and Training signed Decision No. 2457/QD-BGDDT promulgating the Plan of key tasks and solutions for the 2023-2024 school year of the Education and Training sector. With the theme "Solidarity, discipline, creativity, continued innovation, improving the quality of education and training", the 2023-2024 school year of the Education and Training sector focuses on 12 key tasks and solutions. In which, strengthening educational communication work is identified as one of the important tasks. Therefore, Dr. Thai Van Tai proposed that in the coming time, the Propaganda sector and reporters need to work more closely with the Education and Training sector in disseminating policies to teachers, parents, students and the whole society.

At the conference, the reporters were also informed by Associate Professor, Dr. Le Dinh Tinh - Director of the Department of Foreign Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the topic "Current strategic competition between major countries: Impact and Vietnam's policies".
Currently, strategic competition between major countries has had and is having a direct impact on the security, peace and development of the world and the region. In that context, Vietnam is deeply affected, facing many opportunities, but also facing difficulties and challenges that need to be overcome. Therefore, in relations with major countries, Vietnam's foreign policy always has a consistent policy of "independence, autonomy and balance".
Concluding the conference, comrade Phan Xuan Thuy - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department oriented some more key contents in the propaganda work in the coming time, focusing on the contents discussed by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the conference.

In addition, the Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department requested that the Reporters should promote important foreign affairs activities and events, such as the visit of the Singaporean Prime Minister to Vietnam; the ASEAN Summit and especially the state visit of US President Joe Biden to Vietnam from September 10-11.
