All preschool children poisoned in Do Luong have recovered, been discharged from hospital, and returned home.
(Baonghean.vn) - Up to now, the health of all preschool children with food poisoning treated at Do Luong District General Hospital has stabilized, recovered and been discharged to return home.
Doctor Le Duc Hai - Director of Do Luong District General Hospital said: At 9:00 p.m. on May 9, the hospital received 55 cases of children from Thuan Son Commune Kindergarten,Do Luongdiagnosed with suspectedpoisoningfood for treatment. Then at 3am on May 10, the hospital received 2 more children for emergency care.

All 57 children admitted to the hospital had symptoms of abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea... some cases had fever and signs of dehydration.
Immediately, Do Luong District General Hospital mobilized 50 doctors, nurses, and medical equipment, medicine, and supplies to organize emergency treatment for patients in the food poisoning incident.
At the same time, the hospital also held a consultation with the Intensive Care and Poison Control Center of Nghe An General Hospital to ask for guidance and treatment direction.
By 6:30 a.m. on May 10, the health of 57 children had stabilized. By noon of the same day, the health of all poisoned children had recovered and they were discharged from the hospital to return home.
Previously, upon receiving news of a food poisoning incident at Thuan Son Kindergarten, Do Luong District, Nghe An Department of Health promptly directed relevant units to receive, treat patients and investigate the incident.
Dr. Nguyen Huu Le - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health informed: The Department of Health has requested the Do Luong District Medical Center to urgently direct the Thuan Son Commune Health Station to provide emergency and first aid for children with poisoning; in severe cases, they will be transferred immediately to Do Luong District General Hospital.
Do Luong District Medical Center coordinates with the provincial Food Safety and Hygiene Department to collect information, take samples for testing, and update reporting information.
Do Luong District General Hospital urgently mobilized human resources, prepared medicines, arranged enough hospital beds to receive emergency care for the children; contacted the upper level for consultation; sent staff to support the Health Station; and prepared ambulances to transport patients.
The Department of Health also requested Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital and Nghe An General Hospital to prepare human resources and medicine to receive severe cases; prepare human resources, equipment, medicine, and support means when Do Luong District General Hospital requests.
The Nghe An Provincial Food Safety and Hygiene Department coordinated with the Nghe An Department of Education and Training to collect information, clarify the risk group; and coordinate with local authorities to investigate the incident.
With the timely intervention of the units, the treatment of the poisoned children was successful, without any unfortunate consequences./.
