Nghe An fishing boat sunk by waves, 4 crew members rescued at night

At 7:30 p.m. on June 10, the fishing boat with license plate NA 80168 TS of Mr. Le Van Dung (born in 1980), residing in Tay Loc hamlet, Dien Ngoc commune, Dien Chau district, was on its way back when it was suddenly sunk by big waves at coordinates 18°59'00.400 N; 105°39'.800 E.

Upon receiving the news, the Dien Thanh Border Guard Station Command directed Lach Van Border Guard Station to mobilize 1 canoe and 4 officers and soldiers to rescue the victims.

However, during the rescue, due to the waves being too big, the canoe could not move and was forced to return to ensure safety.

Major Nguyen Luong Dung - Head of Dien Thanh Border Guard Station said: "When we knew that the canoe could not reach the scene, the Command of Dien Thanh Border Guard Station immediately sent 6 officers and soldiers and mobilized 4 fishing boats to continue the rescue. At 8:30 p.m. on June 10, the authorities reached the location of the sunken ship and quickly rescued 4 crew members who were drifting at sea. The ship itself had completely sunk."

The crew members were quickly taken to Lach Van Border Guard Station at 10 p.m. the same day for a health check. After the check, the crew members' health gradually stabilized. After that, their families took the crew members home that same night to take care of them.

Four crew members on board were rescued, including: Le Van Dung (born in 1980, Tay Loc hamlet, Dien Ngoc commune); Cao Van Bay (born in 1992, hamlet 12B, Dien Trung commune); Nguyen Dinh Ba (born in 1974, hamlet 5, Dien Trung); Cao Van Nam (born in 1974, hamlet 5, Dien Trung).
