Lunar New Year has 7 days off
Workers will have Lunar New Year holidays from February 10 to 16, 2021, from December 29 of the year Canh Ty to January 5 of the year Tan Suu.
On November 26, the Government Office announced that Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc had approved a Tet holiday plan with 5 days as prescribed and 2 days off in lieu, because the 2nd and 3rd days of Tet (ie February 13 to 14, 2021) fall on Saturday and Sunday. Workers will have compensatory days off on the 4th and 5th of the first lunar month of the year of Tan Suu, ie February 15 to 16, 2021.
The Prime Minister also agreed to the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, on the National Day holiday from September 2 to 5, 2021.

In September, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs proposed a holidayLunar New Year2021 includes 7 days, including 5 official days off and 2 weekend days, divided into two options. The first option is as mentioned above and has been approved by the Prime Minister. The second option is from February 11 to 17, that is, from the 30th of Tet to the 6th.
On the occasion of National Day 2021, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs proposed a 2-day holiday, on September 2 plus one day before or after. This holiday also has two options. If the holiday falls after September 2, civil servants and public employees will have 4 days off, from September 2 to September 5, that is, from Thursday to Sunday. If the holiday falls before September 2, civil servants and public employees will have 2 days off, September 1 and September 2, that is, Wednesday and Thursday. The Ministry prioritizes choosing a 4-day holiday. Because a long holiday is convenient for workers to travel, prepare their children for the new school year, and some other activities.
From 2021, Vietnam will have an additional public holiday on September 2, in addition to the 10 days off as prescribed. The government will choose the holiday on September 1 or September 3 depending on the calendar each year./.
