Up to now, this is the second crop that tangerine growers here have harvested, however, this year, PQ1 tangerines are very difficult to sell, many tangerine gardens have fallen.

Tangerines fell in Mr. Ho Duc Van's garden, hamlet 4, Nghia Tien.

At this time, Mr. Ho Duc Van's family in Hamlet 4, Nghia Tien Commune still has more than half of their area unharvested because traders are not buying. If in the previous crop, 1 kg of tangerines cost 20,000 VND, this crop, 1 kg is only 10,000 VND but few people are looking to buy. Thus, after deducting costs, growers have to suffer losses.

The PQ1 tangerine garden of Ms. Ho Thi Thanh’s family with nearly 400 trees is also in a similar situation. Despite great efforts to find an outlet, apart from a few trees that were harvested during the recent Lunar New Year, most of the trees in the garden are still laden with fruit.

Nghia Tien is a locality with a land area suitable for large citrus trees. Therefore, in recent years, with the attention of all levels, people have boldly changed the crop structure. Particularly with the PQ1 tangerine variety, in addition to 2 hectares deployed by the People's Committee of Thai Hoa town, up to now, households have grown over 7 hectares. The tangerine market is increasingly abundant, so this is also a factor that makes the output of the product difficult. In addition, the color of PQ1 tangerine is not eye-catching and has not attracted consumers.
