Visiting and giving gifts to veterans who participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign in Yen Thanh district

(Baonghean.vn) - Authorized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, on the afternoon of April 5, representatives of the leaders of the Veterans Association of Nghe An province and the Veterans Association of Yen Thanh district visited and presented gifts to veterans who participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign in Yen Thanh district.

This is one of the activities towards the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024). Accordingly, 6 gifts were given to 6 veterans who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign in the past, including: War veterans Nguyen The Vien, Phan Quoc Quy (Hung Thanh commune); War veterans Dao Dinh Giap, Nguyen Van Vien (Vinh Thanh commune); War veterans Hoang Minh Chu (Hop Thanh commune) and War veterans Vo Trong Tai (Tang Thanh commune).

Most of the war veterans are over 80 years old. Despite their advanced age, they still set a good example, always upholding and promoting the good qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, actively and exemplaryly leading all local activities, giving advice to join hands in building new rural areas, contributing to building an increasingly prosperous homeland.

At the families, the delegation presented gifts and took time to kindly inquire about their health, expressing deep gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of the war veterans in the cause of national liberation and reunification, for peace, independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people; At the same time, they also hoped that the war veterans would always uphold and promote the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers and revolutionary traditions, be shining examples to educate the younger generation to continue to follow the example of implementing the Party's policies and the State's laws, actively working in production, and implementing local movements.

The veterans' families were moved to thank the Party, the State, and Veterans Associations at all levels for their concern, giving both sentiments and material support to the cadres and war veterans who participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. They promised to continue promoting the revolutionary tradition of their families and homeland, encouraging their children and grandchildren to actively work in production, develop the family economy, and contribute to building a prosperous and beautiful homeland./.
