Thanh Chuong: dry river, dry fields, farmers plant plaster
(Baonghean.vn)- This spring crop, the entire Thanh Chuong district is expected to plant over 8,000 hectares of rice of all kinds. Thanks to good preparation, people are actively going to the fields. However, due to the lack of water sources, many places are having to plant rice in the cold rain, which is very difficult. Some small areas at the end of the water source are waiting for the rain to come.

Many pumping stations are "inert" |
The 6-acre rice field of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy's family in Hamlet 3, Thanh Van Commune, Thanh Chuong District, located about 1km from the pumping station, has been in a state of drought for more than a week now.
This year, Thanh Van commune planted about 200 hectares of rice in the winter-spring crop. Currently, only about 60% of the area has water for planting, the rest still depends on the main water source, Rang pumping station. However, due to the record low water level of Lam River, Rang pumping station currently has 4 water intake pipes, only one of which is working, the rest are bare.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy and people in Hamlet 3, Thanh Van Commune have to plant rice due to lack of water. |
Not only Thanh Van commune, but also many other localities in the district are currently facing water shortages. The reason is still due to the decrease in rainfall compared to previous years, so rivers, lakes and dams are lacking water. To solve this problem, the authorities are planning to save maximum water for spring crop production.
Mr. Nguyen Tri Hiep - Director of Thanh Chuong District Irrigation Company said that due to complicated weather, some lakes have run dry at this time, so people should have a plan to save water to the maximum level to serve the spring crop.

The previously planted rice also did not have enough water to grow, many dry fields were waiting for the sky and water. |
Water supply is the goal and responsibility of departments, branches and organizations from the district to the grassroots. However, in the context of water resources being exhausted, despite efforts, difficulties are still unavoidable, so together with functional branches, people need to focus on saving and using water resources rationally, only then can we ensure the planting of all areas.
